A cutting-edge artist with a distinctive personal style, Carlos Jaurena explores memory, family history, and the shifting role of masculinity in contemporary society. His latest body of work carries a triple nostalgia—for the 1930s, the 1940s, and Surrealism—while confronting present-day questions around tradition, patriarchy, and feminist critique. With acrylics on canvas and paper, Jaurena’s signature protagonist, clad in a vintage 40s suit and fedora, takes center stage.
