My name is Alejandra Luna.

I have been in the dance since I was very young; I was two years old when I started.

My love for dance came from my father, because when he was young he belonged to a danza group, and when I saw him as a little girl I wanted to be like him.

I have been in two danza groups so far, and I was also part of a ballroom dance group.

I dance because I like it, it fascinates me. There is nothing like hearing the drums—it is a satisfaction at the moment of dancing, you feel an adrenaline and a very beautiful energy that I cannot describe in words. When you are with your group and all that emotion spreads, it is something magical.

"Guamares" refers to the Guamares people, an indigenous Chichimeca group from the region that includes present-day Guanajuato and parts of San Miguel/Comonfort.
