A vibrant show with national and international salsa champions, and the participation of local schools. Dance and live music exhibition for all rhythm lovers.
On May 9, the emblematic main square of San Miguel de Allende will be the scene of the first NR Salsa Fest 2025, an event that celebrates the passion for dance, national talent and the artistic growth of a vibrant community. Organized by Nova Rumba Escuela de Baile, this festival marks a historic moment for the city and for all lovers of Latin rhythms.
Nova Rumba, a dance school with 15 years of experience in San Miguel, has trained hundreds of students over time, transmitting not only technique, but also the love for dance. This year, to celebrate their fifteenth anniversary, they present an unprecedented show that will bring together dancers of national and international stature, as well as renowned exponents in the field of salsa.
Among the special guests is the presence of seven-time world champion Jorge Martínez, who arrives from Oaxaca to share his talent with the San Miguel public. Fernando and Carlita, the greatest exponents of dance in Irapuato; Cristian David, one of the most outstanding dancers on the national scene; as well as representatives from Celaya, Guadalajara and other cities of the Bajío. All of them will offer exhibitions that promise to surprise and excite.
The event will not only be a showcase for professionals, but also an opportunity for Nova Rumba students, from basic to advanced levels, to demonstrate their progress and passion for dance. The night will close with a flourish thanks to the presentation of the musical group La Libertad, which will make the square become a real outdoor dance floor.
She added that she started dancing at a very early age, but that here in San Miguel there were very few people who danced, and that now, fortunately, there are many people dancing Latin rhythms of different ages, which gives her pleasure, since she can share what she has learned here and elsewhere with her students.
On the other hand, Iván de la Cruz, also founder of Nova Rumba in San Miguel, said that, despite not being originally from this city, he already considers himself just another Sanmiguelense. He assured that there are schools from other cities that have been calling them to be part of this great event, so he hopes that on that day all of San Miguel will enjoy the dance demonstrations.
This festival will be more than a show, it is a tribute to the effort, art and citizens of San Miguel de Allende who like and love salsa. This city, known for its cultural richness, now adds a new tradition that celebrates movement, music and the Latin heart.

Musas de la Danza celebra su edición internacional con la participación de bailarines de México y Chile
Nova Rumba, una escuela de baile con 15 años de trayectoria en San Miguel, ha formado a cientos de alumnos a lo largo del tiempo, transmitiendo no solo técnica, sino también el amor por la danza. Este año, para celebrar su aniversario número quince, presentan un espectáculo sin precedentes que reunirá a bailarines de talla nacional e internacional, así como a exponentes de renombre en el ámbito de la salsa.
Entre los invitados especiales destaca la presencia del siete veces campeón mundial Jorge Martínez, quien llega desde Oaxaca para compartir su talento con el público sanmiguelense. También estarán presentes Fernando y Carlita, los máximos exponentes de la danza en Irapuato; Cristian David, uno de los bailarines más destacados en la escena nacional; además de representantes de Celaya, Guadalajara y otras ciudades del Bajío. Todos ellos ofrecerán exhibiciones que prometen sorprender y emocionar.
El evento no solo será un escaparate para profesionales, sino también una oportunidad para que los alumnos de Nova Rumba, desde niveles básicos hasta avanzados, demuestren sus avances y su pasión por el baile. La noche cerrará con broche de oro gracias a la presentación del grupo musical La Libertad, que hará que la plaza se convierta en una verdadera pista de baile al aire libre.

Este festival es una muestra del amor profundo que sentimos por la danza, es un sueño hecho realidad ver a San Miguel de Allende convertirse en un punto de encuentro de grandes talentos.

Agregó que ella empezó a bailar desde muy temprana edad, pero que aquí en San Miguel había muy poca gente que bailaba, y que ahora, afortunadamente, hay muchas personas bailando ritmos latinos de diferentes edades, lo cual le da gusto, ya que puede compartir lo que ha aprendido aquí y en otros lados con sus alumnos.
Por otro lado, Iván de la Cruz, también fundador de Nova Rumba en San Miguel, expresó que, a pesar de no ser originario de esta ciudad, ya se considera un sanmiguelense más. Aseguró que hay escuelas de otras ciudades que les han estado llamando para ser parte de este gran evento, por lo que espera que ese día todo San Miguel vaya a disfrutar de las demostraciones de baile.
