Feminine ancestral wisdom from the Amazonian jungle
Dear sisters and SMA community! We will receive the visit of three wonderful medicine women from the Colombian Amazonian region. I had the honor of meeting them in their territory and I can assure you they are full of wisdom, humility and inner power. True masters.
If you want to take part in this unique experience, your donation will cover their expenses and support them in their journey to share and save their traditional knowledge.
It's a female-oriented session. For all those who want to explore the strength of the divine feminine these ladies truly embody it.

As the conversation advanced, it was clear that the shaman, leader of the community, was an extremely educated man. However, he held no degrees. His true school, the one in which he learned and now stood as a teacher and high priest, was behind him, beautiful and majestic, a living cathedral, the Amazonian jungle of the Putumayo area in Colombia.
I'd stayed for a few times in the Putumayo area learning from the ancient Cofan people. Each visit reveals a new layer of knowledge that totally reframes my idea of reality and, in a parallel way, gives consistency to the importance of the human spirit.
From the native perspective, the material realm appears as a consequence of the divine will. Very much like the ancient hermetic tradition: ideas weigh more than matter, nature shines as the ultimate teacher; love unites everything in a mysterious and never ending weaving.
During my last visit I had the chance to engage in deeper conversations with the women of the community. Their knowledge and mastery of the medicinal plants equals those of the men. In addition to that they are spirituality strengthened by the experience of motherhood.
They are pillars in their community and the way they support their husbands in the sacred ceremonies tells a lot about the efficiency of ancestral roles in maintaining the spiritual and mental health of the community. This tour of theirs sets an example for the girls and younger women of their communities of how, with love, bravery and imagination a better life can be created.
We are lucky enough to have them for a session this next May 26th in SMA. This is a translation of their message:
"As indigenous women, our purpose is to bring a message to women around the world to generate self-reflection, harmonization and share knowledge in relation to our feminine role, as creative women, trainers, cultivators, weavers of thought, healers with the guidance of elemental spirits of our mother nature, bearers of knowledge, inherited from our ancestors our mothers and fathers, who have taught us in the journey and art of life"
I can guarantee that the meeting with them will be transformative and beautiful.
Two medicines will be used in this workshop. Mambe which is powdered coca leaf, a medicine that helps to focus the attention and center the emotional systems. Ambil, cooked, edible tobacco, related with the sharing of the words, the connection with clear thoughts, friendship and conversation. This two medicines are made with ancient and elaborate traditional techiniques and will be shared my these women that will put the proper indigenous context to enjoy the benefits of the medicines.
In these times with all the technological change and political unrest, a new reflection on spirituality is required. In that sense, these women's emphasis on the relation between womanhood and Mother Earth and the power that comes from the divine feminine is especially important. The invitation is for all women, come with your hearts and minds open to receive wisdom from the center of the mothers and grandmothers of the Amazonian jungle.
