Procession for the Virgin of Carmel

Starting with predawn fireworks the festivities for the Virgin of Carmel continue with her procession. It is the feast day for pals named Carmen. The Virgin of Carmel stressed wearing the brown scapulars (necklaces with brown cloth) to help the wearer stay meditative and is why the Carmelite nuns in town still wear the long brown fabric front and back.
