An intimate and evocative journey through the sound worlds of composer and guitarist Moisés Acosta. Inspired by the work of the painter Francisco Goitia, the program intertwines danzón, zarabanda, tango and contemporary sonorities with echoes of the baroque and Latin American tradition.

About the artist:

Moisés Acosta is a Mexican composer, conductor and guitarist. He has studied composition with Rodrigo Lomán and Marvin Camacho, and guitar with renowned teachers such as Alfonso Moreno, Leo Brouwer and Pablo Garibay. He has received training in orchestral conducting with Jooyong Ahn, Alfredo Ibarra and José Arturo González, covering symphonic and chamber repertoire.

He has taught at the University of the Arts of Aguascalientes and offered courses in several states of the country. Its students have been awarded in national and international competitions. He has been a fellow of FONCA and the Program of Incentives for Creation in different editions, with projects such as the production of his complete work for solo guitar and national tours with the Kanari Ensemble.

As a composer, he has more than 100 works totaling around 9 hours of original music, including pieces for orchestra, chamber and guitar. His work has been performed in Mexico, Hungary, Italy and El Salvador by prominent musicians. He has performed at important national and international festivals, and has dedicated part of his career to the dissemination of the work of Manuel M. Ponce. Currently, he plays with a handmade guitar called La selvatica, built by Daniel Caro Leonardo.

Un viaje íntimo y evocador a través de los mundos sonoros del compositor y guitarrista Moisés Acosta. Inspirado en la obra del pintor Francisco Goitia, el programa entrelaza danzón, zarabanda, tango y sonoridades contemporáneas con ecos del barroco y la tradición latinoamericana.

Sobre el artista:

Moisés Acosta es un compositor, director de orquesta y guitarrista mexicano. Estudió composición con Rodrigo Lomán y Marvin Camacho, y guitarra con maestros de renombre como Alfonso Moreno, Leo Brouwer y Pablo Garibay. Se formó en dirección orquestal con Jooyong Ahn, Alfredo Ibarra y José Arturo González, abarcando repertorio sinfónico y de cámara.

Ha impartido docencia en la Universidad de las Artes de Aguascalientes y ha impartido cursos en varios estados del país. Sus alumnos han sido premiados en concursos nacionales e internacionales. Ha sido becario del FONCA y del Programa de Estímulos a la Creación en diferentes ediciones, con proyectos como la producción de su obra completa para guitarra solista y giras nacionales con el Ensamble Kanari.

Como compositor, cuenta con más de 100 obras que suman alrededor de 9 horas de música original, incluyendo piezas para orquesta, cámara y guitarra. Su obra ha sido interpretada en México, Hungría, Italia y El Salvador por destacados músicos. Ha participado en importantes festivales nacionales e internacionales y ha dedicado parte de su carrera a difundir la obra de Manuel M. Ponce. Actualmente, toca con una guitarra artesanal llamada La Selvatica, construida por Daniel Caro Leonardo.
