Global Retirement: Who Said You Have to Stay in One Place?

Retiring at 56 Jay embarked on a one year around-the-world journey as a retirement gift to herself. She willingly admits to loving the nomadic lifestyle so much that she is currently in the middle of the fourth year of this journey, with no signs of stopping.

In this heartwarming, hilarious and informative presentation you will learn how to travel on a tight budget while staying in quality housing, eating delicious food, viewing glorious landscapes, and experiencing cultural exchanges that are priceless. You can also experience volunteer opportunities that will feed your soul. Jay will show you how she managed to experience 25 countries in three and a half years, on a quarter of what she would have spent living in New Orleans, her hometown; basically saving money while seeing the world.

Jay lived and worked in Japan for three years, Germany for eight and Italy for five years and acknowledges that transitioning into the nomadic lifestyle was easy for her but is sure that anyone can do it no matter where they have lived. There are highs and lows in around-the-world travel but there are more highs than lows for sure. You will definitely benefit by learning from Jays mistakes and you will have a smooth transition into the nomadic travel lifestyle whether it is for 3 months, 6 months or several years.

This presentation will fuel your wanderlust!

"Travel isn't always pretty. It isn't always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that's okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind." – Anthony Bourdain
