Artwalk on the Wilde Side. MyStudio-MiEstudio

by John Berryhill

Calling all culture vultures, art aficionados, the curious, the mystic and the mad. Clear your calendars for February 23 and 24, 2019 (hours 11-5). It's that time of year again when Colonia San Antonio is transformed from a quaint and quiet neighbourhood into the hottest art event of the season. MyStudio-MiEstudio (the new incarnation of the former San Antonio Open Studio), complete with sparkling new signage, will be partnering through our Outreach Program with three of the most promising young artists from the Instituto Allende art school. Included are Bo Genis, Ceramics and drawings, Leon Currie, Ceramics and Drawings and Yanaton Cravioto Csion, Paintings and Drawings. All three are la crème de la crème and richly deserve this recognition. Also a weaver, Luis Mendoza, working on his own.

Over this weekend, 47 gifted members of San Antonio's art community will be opening their studio doors and sharing their impressive Paintings, Ceramics, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photography, Printing, Collage, Jewelry and Digital work; further, 4 of the artists will be donating exhibition space to the aforementioned Outreach Students. Once again a spectacular series of 12, nine foot high Astrological Banners will be on display at the corner of San Elias and Privado de San Pablo (studio of Peter A. Davis, Organizer of MyStudio-MiEstudio and creator of the Outreach Program). Freshly created art work for these 12 Astrological Banners were created by Bruce Stuart, Alifie Rojas, Katrina Noel, David Gutierrez, Ri Anderson, Graciel Perez, Miguel Hernandez, Linda Soberman, Hope Palmer, Diane Varney, Peter A Davis and Jod Jurie. On the weekend, February 23 & 24, visit 47 studios in Colonia San Antonio to get a taste of what's really happening with Art in San Miguel de Allende!
