Andrew Osta - opening

Mark your calendars! An exciting showing of previously unseen paintings by Andrew Osta will open at the Galería Bordelo on December 7, 2018 and remain up through the first week of January 2019. I had a preview and saw a very diverse body of work, ranging from realistic landscapes to surrealism, to sensitive florals, to whimsical depictions of Mexican life (Mohigangas, Parades, Mariachis, Dogs on the park, etc.) To my dismay, the painting of fireworks on Aldama was sold before the show, but Andrew was open to doing another like it. All in all, there are between two and three dozen wonderfully varied paintings available, as well as about two dozen different prints.

Speaking with a few San Miguelenses left no doubt that the show has been highly anticipated. “Andrew is an amazing young man who creates fabulous paintings,” says collector Sandy Hudson. “My husband and I collect traditional artwork, but Osta's work seems to cross all boundaries. His art is definitely now hanging in our house, just wish we had more wall space!”

Film producer Faith Fuller agreed: “I am the proud owner of several of Andrew's paintings. Especially meaningful are his whimsical and colorful portrayals of San Miguel. He is a multi-talented and multi-cultural artist working in a variety of styles. Not only is he a talented painter, he's a gifted writer and musician and just a good person!”

Don’t miss this opportunity to see and purchase new work and meet the artist!
