Jazz of the Americas w/ Ulrike Flores

Wednesday, January 15th at 5 pm and Wednesday, January 29th at 5 pm join Ulrike Flores and her band as they perform Jazz of the Americas, recalling how the American continent is a complex mixture of cultures, traditions, peoples. The European colonizers in the 16th century served as the beginning of a fruitful artistic encounter between Europe and America creating a unique and deeply passionate musical style—which Ulrike and her band capture nicely!

Ulrike brings along four of our town’s best musicians: Rubén García on flute, Israel Chávez (violin and drums), Francisco Hermosilla (guitar) and Sergio Carrillo on bass. Blending musical styles from tango, blues, bolero, bossa nova and afrosamba, she’ll take you on a tour of the continent with what one critic calls “nuanced interpretations and enormous depth”. Join us for an unforgettable evening of Latin romance and jazz!
