Leslie Beam's extraordinary series Shelter Skelter Storytelling Extravaganza is back with all new ten minute stories. Shelter Skelter continues to amuse and surprise audiences with its eclectic array of storytellers and genres of stories from comedy to drama to mythology to spooky to the undefinable. And on the off off chance one of the tales doesn't suit your taste, just wait a few minutes and you're on to the next.

So what inspired Leslie Beam to create Shelter Skelter Storytelling Extravaganza in the first place? It was a hole in the SMA arts scene crying out to be filled. You may have noticed there's been huge growth in storytelling's popularity in the US and around the world in the last decade. Storytellers want to perform and story fans want to hear them. San Miguel is packed with interesting people who bring to the table a wealth of compelling stories. Not to mention, Leslie loves to tell stories herself. Plus she’s a big fan of the Shelter Theater, its owner John and manager David, partners in all of this. So after the audience's enthusiastic reception to the pilot show last August, it was clear we had to do more. And the audience kept coming and the storytellers kept stepping up.
